Once a topic is taught and completed in class, the student should work on all questions from that topic. This helps the learner to understand fully the concepts learnt. By so doing, the learner improves his/her retention of skills and procedures. Past K.C.S.E. questions play a major role in familiarising the students with the National Exam, thus increasing confidence in the learner.

The change of the syllabus in English though credible, has occasionally thrown the students into a quagmire. Many students have been groping in the dark in their endeavor to handle different questions and frequently learners of a very high capability have been performing dismally.
This book is aimed at inculcating the learner with effective skills of writing description, analysis, synthesis and evaluation in line with Blooms taxonomy. This book will go a long way to acquaint the learners with appropriate skills which will act as a springing board to success.
The contents in the book will surely enable the learners to identify the chronological sequence of ideas given that this will go a long way to give precision in the learners work and help cultivate a positive attitude to English.
Earlier on the English papers captured the various contents differently. Only Poetry, Oral Literature, Compositions and Grammar have been captured between 2000 and 2005.
