Made Familiar

This Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) Made Familiar workbook is designed to help students familiarize themselves with K.C.S.E. Geography questions – both Paper 1 and Paper

2. The work book covers Geography questions that have been tested from 2000 to date.

The questions have been arranged in topics and in their respective forms in which they are taught. Some topics are introduced in one form and are advanced in another, for example, Map work and Statistical Methods. The questions are in their original form, that is, as they appeared in K.C.S.E. paper. Beneath every question, the following have been clearly indicated:

  • Marks carried by the question
  • Year tested
  • Paper tested in, and
  • Number in the paper.

This information will help the students identify topics that are frequently tested and the various ways in which concepts in these topics are tested.

The answers to the questions have been presented immediately after each paper for easier reference.

Author: Daniel Mwaniki

Once a topic is taught and completed in class, the student should work on all questions from that topic in this book. This helps the student understand fully the concepts learnt. By attempting all questions, from a topic that has just been learnt, the student improves his/her retention of skills and procedures.

Past K.C.S.E. questions play an important role in familiarizing a student with National Examinations. For topics frequently tested, the number of ways in which concepts can be tested is limited, and so similar ideas recur.

Geography is a living and very exciting subject. It is the study of the Earth’s landscapes, people, places and environments. K.C.S.E. tests the candidate’s ability to comprehend, apply and analyze Geography concepts that are spelt out in the secondary syllabus. The workbook is therefore designed to guide students in answering various K.C.S.E. questions.

Passing Geography is easy! Just be attentive in class, do your homework consistently, use a revision book (such as KCSE Made Familiar), have a positive attitude, and believe in yourself
